Gym
Mania receive cash boost from Community Fund
Fit, fun and mad
about gym; that’s a growing band of kids in a Wyre town
… and its all thanks to a club started by award
winning volunteer Sarah Oxley.
Her Gym Mania Gymnastics Club has just celebrated its
first birthday and has received a cash boost into the bargain !
Sarah who lives in Thornton wanted to give tiny tots a
fun introduction to sport when she started the club at Poulton
Youth and Community Centre and they soon got the message.
It now has a membership of more than 60 children aged
from two-and-a-half to six, and they’re in no danger of
becoming couch potatoes thanks to Sarah’s enthusiasm for
making her top sport their top sport, too.
Gym
Mania is starting the new year on a high note, with a new vault
box – thanks to a donation of £585 from local freemasons.
Assistant
Provincial Grand Master Leon Tax said :
‘Gym
Mania is doing a wonderful job promoting learning from an early
age about the importance of physical activity in order to keep
healthy. Sarah has
worked very hard coaching these children and it’s pleasing
for us to support her as she develops Gym Mania in the Fylde’.
